VICTORIAN CURRICULUM.

The Victorian Curriculum (VC) outlines a set of knowledge & skills required by students for their first 11 years of school. The VC uses elements of the Australian Curriculum while keeping Victorian specific priorities & standards.

All Victorian government & Catholic schools are required to use the Victorian Curriculum

The Victorian Curriculum includes eight learning areas - English is one of those eight

The English learning area is broken into three components - Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening

The Reading component is broken into three strands - Language, Literature & Literacy
