NSW Syllabus.

In New South Wales, the Australian Curriculum is used as a guide alongside the NSW Curriculum. The structure is broken into six Stages; beginning from Early Stage One Kindergarten (first year of primary school) & continuing through to Stage Five (Year 10).

The NSW syllabus has six key learning areas - one of these being English

A new English year K-10 syllabus is being introduced in 2023

The English section is broken into two groups of content - understanding texts & creating texts

Content topics covered are - reading fluency, reading comprehension, phonological awareness, print conventions & phonic knowledge
