International Literacy Day

Started by UNESCO in 1967 “to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights.”

Each year a new theme is selected to reflect an aspect relevant at a global level. A wonderful celebration for children to be reminded what a gift it is to be able to read.
