Book Lists.

Aimed for ages 4-6

  • Illustration Sensations.

These books have been selected especially for their epic ability to engage you in a discussion about the pictures. The emphasis is less on reading the words (some even have no words!) which gives room to relax into a world of imagination & child-driven story telling.

Point out the details, chat about what the illustrations mean & dive deep into a creative reading space.

  • Non-Fiction.

Reading books in this fact style is a great way to explore different topics & features of books. Some children gravitate to this style more too as they enjoy picking up new fun facts or learning more about a subject they especially love.

This list has been created with a 4-6 year old in mind. If your child reads a lot of fiction stories, it could be worth throwing in a few of the books from this list to mix it up.

  • Fiction.

This group of books can cover a variety of genres we may forget about at first glance. Try to borrow poetry, diary style, joke books & fairytales. Most children seem to digest a large amount of fiction texts, which is great, but be mindful of mixing it up to explore different styles.
